Bad service after being so loyal to the brand

I discovered GHD 7 years ago and have been using their straighteners ever since.
My first GHD I had for almost 5 years and then I bought a second one as I knew you can't go wrong... to my surprise the wiring burnt out (I smelt it burn). I called GHD South Africa to ask them if they can help me with the repairs as my GHD is only about two years old. They referred me to a place in Durban who charges nothing less than R400, and that is excluding postage, courier etc.
You pay R2500 for a straightener but then when you need help you get referred to repairers who rip you off more... So much for being loyal to a very expensive brand and then receiving bad customer service.
