Out of box failure - passed the buck

I paid over R2500 for the installation of my DSTv. The red-eye was an out of box failure. Instead of the supplier offering to drop off a new one, he advised me to have it tested elsewhere - then attempt to have it replaced. He could have offered to drop off a new one, instead he opted to send me off somewhere else - washed his hands of the affair.
