Lost registered parcel!

I posted a registered parcel on 27 March 2012 to Australia which never arrived. I put in to complaint at the Blairgowrie Post office on 6 May 2012. I kept asking what was happening and was told that the post master would get back to me - he never did. I eventually wrote on Hello Peter and I did get a reply but now they tell me there is nothing they can do as the parcel was posted more than 6 months ago! I have been complaining since 6 May 2012 and could not get anyone to do anything about it and now they say it is too long!!! It is too long as no one at the post office did anything about it for 10 months!!! I got an email saying that the file was first sent on 15 May 2012 but that the file was never returned! So they did get my complaint from the 6 May but it was ignored. Why bother to register parcels if nothing gets done about it when they go missing!!!
