Don't waste your money on Eqstra Bodyline Maintena

Miscellaneous

I took the Bodyline Maintenance Plan when I bought my Corolla in Dec 2012 after the Totoya sales lady convinced me it was different from what Regent Insurance offered. She told me that I could accumulate up to three claims in a six months period in order to be able to claim for dents and scratches to keep my car in a tip top condition. I believed her and thought if this plan would help me avoid claiming from my insurance company, I should take it. That was yet another BIGGEST mistake of my life...

In 2006 when I bought my Toyota Yaris, I took the same plan but then you couldn't accumulate any claims. When I called the Regent call center to get a few dents fixed. They told me to go get quotes to a maximum of R3000. When I approached an RMI & SAMBRA registered panel beater, the manager laughed at my face and told me that they don't waste their time on R3000 claims. He was honest enough to tell me that no panelbeater would entertain my claim.

I feel stupid because I've been twice bitten now, this time by Eqstra Sure (Holdings Limited). The point is: people, when you buy your car, forget these silly body maintenance plans. Just pay, get your comprehensive insurance and drive away!
