Jeep Campas sunroof burst

Miscellaneous

I drive the New Jeep Campas which I bought early August last year. On Friday the 20th of December 2013 in the morning, while driving to work on M1 North I heard a loud bang sound and looked around thinking maybe a window or windscreen broke. Only to find out later that it was the sunroof. The sunroof was opened when I heard this sound, which means it was covered by the car roof top. So I only noticed that the sunroof had burst when I tried to close it after parking the car at work. After I had reported this incidence to the Sandton Chrysler branch we tried to check the car and we also looked for evidence or scratches in the top car body, because whatever broke the sunroof glass should have hit the body first. I thought maybe a rock likely hit the window and bounced back on the road but that is unlikely because I did not see anything and according to the research I made states that calculating a rock lofted into the air by a vehicle tire would reach a height of 10-15 feet and would have to come down at 70-80 miles an hour to break the sunroof. This is clearly a factory fault but Chrysler SA refuses to take any responsibility or even investigate. This is unacceptable.
