The HPCSA have still not provided the official response of the health practitioner to a complaint. This was initially requested in June 2013, and again in over 8 emails. It's been almost 8 months waiting for the HPCSA to produce one document, which they previously admitted they could not find. This was the explanation that absolved the practitioner of any wrongdoing. I would expect that document to be fairly significant and should be retained in the file. I received a response on 14 January 2014, apologising for the HPCSA non-response, and since then, have received NO response again and still no official explanation from the psychologist. It would appear that complaints lodged just simply go around in circles, pushed from one ineffective / overburdened legal person to another until they hope that the public just give up on ever receiving a response to a legitimate complaint. The HPCSA do NOT serve the public, but rather seem to serve their members (the health practitioners) who contribute to their funding. This is the most shocking display of incompetence in what is expected to be a professional and ethical organisation.
