We went to the SANRAL kiosk at Northmead Square in Benoni to attempt to pay our E-toll fees, as we received an invoice and have elected to pay. Note that we are 'alternative users' (i.e. unregistered).

We stood in the queue for nearly 40 minutes; eventually reaching the front. We attempted to pay cash, but the system (which was apparently offline earlier) was taking a long time to process payments. The gentleman in-front of us had been waiting 30 minutes for his R70 payment to process. He was STILL waiting by the time we reached the front of the queue.

Eventually, we just left without paying. This system is grossly inefficient and a waste of everyone's time. And just as a matter of interest - people who were registered users were not having better luck.

On another note - the system that registers users was working perfectly...(we still will not register).

SANRAL is making it as difficult as possible for unregistered users (who attempt to pay) to pay their accounts.
