Ford
3rd Engine! No Courtesy Car!

Miscellaneous

My 2012 Ford Ranger 3.2 XLT D/Cab (70, 000km) is currently in to have its 3rd engine fitted. Despite the inconvenience of not having the use of my vehicle, I am frustrated with the poor service from Ford. I understand that there is a problem with the 3.2 engine as I know of quite a few others recently replaced, but I do not understand why a courtesy car is not arranged for me while my vehicle is waiting for a new engine. I have been without a vehicle since 21 December 2013 and the local dealer advised that a new engine would not be available before February.
I feel this is unacceptable.
Furthermore, when the engine broke I was on my way to the sea for holiday and I arranged it to be towed to my house immediately at my own cost. The local dealer in Queenstown then refused to collect the vehicle from my house ( -2km) on the Monday morning and I had to arrange it to be towed again at my own cost and inconvenience.
In terms of service from the local dealer for warranty issues in the past, I have also been inconvenienced when the exhaust manifold has come loose numerous times and then had to wait for new parts at least a week at a time, again with no courtesy car offered.
