Dont trust Mercedes Benz Warranty

On 15 January 2008, Mercedes Benz were paid for a six year new car warranty for S320 Cdi WTZ363 GP.
In the naive hope that this six year period would be honored, I booked the car in for a final service on 13 January 2014. The service advisor - Dees initially agreed - that the warranty expired on 15 January 2014, then denied it and advised that the warranty expired on 2 January 2014.This is arrant nonsense. There was no reference to any expiry date on the last bill I received from Mercedes Bryanston and a six year warranty should remain exactly that - not some random date imposed arbitrarily by some supplier. Just beware of Mercedes Benz warranties. I have been told that it is going to cost me another totally unnecessary R8000.
