EMS delays, no call centre response

A foreign item sent by EMS is stuck at JIMC for 2 days now. Capemail does not know what's going on. They suggested I call 011 961 6000 but that number only rings and cuts out after about 5min of ringing. I've emailed JIMC but got a vague response that my item is still at customs with no indication what the problem may be -- is it a delivery issue to Cape Town where customs do actual assessments or is now JHB customs assessing items in which case do they want any paperwork? The item is the sort which previously had no problems with customs clearance and if there were problems these occurred in Capemail. EMS is supposed to be an express service but so far no service. SAPO National Postal 086 number also does not work, as the answering machine speaks in circles. Somebody in JIMC customs said there may be a postal strike at JIMC but there's no indication of anything anywhere. Thanks.
