Unfair accommodation bookings

I made a accommodation booking two months in advance for six people (R750.00 deposited into her account) we arrived at our destination on the day . i called the woman to tell her we arrived, and she just needed to hand over the key of the house, she told us there people in the house who decided to extend their stay.she said she wont be able to accommodate us for the weekend. she then told us she found us a house of a friend down the road and we said okay, we followed her and her husband to the other house, the other house could just accommodate four people. we were so unhappy because its nothing like what we paid for, very small as well and very uncomfortable . we still had to pay her the same amount of money for that house. she did not even say sorry for causing the disappointment, we just had to accept everything the way it was.
please help us get a portion of our money back or something like that, because we do not want to let her get away with it.
