Tangaroa Farm And Spa
Non Strawberry Farm

Miscellaneous

I had the misfortune of visiting the Tangaroa Strawberry Farm on Saturday 12 Oct 2013. We arrived at the farm at 10:05am. They open at 9:00 am. I had to pay R30 per person (5 people of which two were kids under 5 years old). I asked the lady who took our money before I paid, whether or not they had strawberries in the field. She assured me that there were many strawberries for us to pick and enjoy. When arriving in the field, there were a few strawberries the size of gooseberries. The few that we did manage to find, were half eaten at the bottom by bugs. You are allowed to eat as many strawberries in the field while picking, but there is no water where you can was your strawberries before eating them. Seeing that we could not wash our strawberries before we eat them in the field, we left with a very small bucket not even filled half between the 5 of us, for which you had to pay around R20 more. We went to the lady who told us there were lots of strawberries, and told her that we were unable to find much, on which she replied "you came too late". As we went out, 3 families arrived and paid to pick strawberries, and also they were not told that there was nothing
