Terrible Quality of Goods

It is hard to believe that this is a German product. I purchased a K3.150 just under a year ago assuming that it would be sufficient for the odd monthly paving clean around the house. The unit started to leak within 6 months of use. I eventually did return it about 3 weeks ago and it is currently in the repair shop. The issue at hand is the terrible quality of this product, to a degree I am to blame as I had purchased a smaller Karcher unit about 5 years ago and it also broke within 6 months of use (only ever used this to wash my car at the time), I just threw the unit away at the time as I had lost the purchase slip. My brother had also purchased abouth 3 Karcher units and over the years and at no time did they ever last more than a year. He now uses a Black and Decker unit that he purchased for under R800 and it has been running like a beauty for a while. Why does Karcher price their items as if it is a premium product, yet it is quite clearly an inferior product. I was considering the K4.640 as I needed my investment to last, I was advised by the salesman that the K3 is sufficient, I should have bought the Black and Dekker for half the price instead.
