Poor hygiene at cattery causes pet's ill heath

We went away on holiday and left our cat in the care of Kitty Shelter. It was the first time we used their services and were very happy that they allowed us to pick our cat up on a Sunday. However, when we fetched our cat, we were horrified to see how dirty the place was. It smelled and all the litter boxes were dirty. My cat had dust coating him. The unhygienic environment gave him a respiratory infection. His ill health was not reported to us, so we have no idea how long he was ill for in their care. The vet is hoping that it is just a respiratory infection and nothing worse. Depending on my cat's reaction to the antibiotic, will determine how bad the situation is. I paid for the company to look after my cat, not to simply feed it.
