Left in the Dark

We showed interest in a new Development at Era in February 2013 we were told to put down R5000.00 deposit for the yard and to bring in 6 months Bank statements we did that and paid very high bank charges for the Bank statements. We where told that we would know if our application was approved in 3 weeks time now we are in August 6 months later and still nothing. If we want feedback we need to call and most of the time we cannot get a hold of the agent. Furthermore the plans on the new development changed since the 1st contract signed. We went in to sign a new contract and requested copies but was told we have to wait we also phoned several times to find out when we would get the copies but could not get a hold of the agent, left messages but never contacted back. If we were told from day one that we would wait this long there would have been no problems, but we are not even phoned to inform us of the progress. I even sent a E-mail early this morning and still no reply. Is this the procedures should a consumer do all the follow up. Are they going to give us interest on the R5000.00 Deposit that was paid 6 months back?
