Spam, spam and more spam

I am livid. Firstly the call center agent refers to me by my maiden name which I have not used in 6 years, thus they are using very outdated databases. Secondly, I calmly told they agent that I am NOT interested and ended the call. As I put down the phone I receive an sms saying "Thank you for showing interest in Mobilesplus. We will keep you updated on our deals..." How dare they! I never showed interest nor opted in to any communication. The sms also did not contain an OPT OUT option, which I am sure is illegal. I am so tired of companies violating our privacy and forcing products down our throats even when we explicitly said NO! It's like ear.
