Urban Towing
Rip-off and threatening is the Urban Towing way

My SUV got stuck on the Three Anchor Bay beach at 2am and one of the securities there immediately called Urban Towing, before I could call my own.
When Urban Towing arrived I asked them for a quote for rescue my car and found the amount of R1650 totally overpriced. I googled and called a different towing company (Gardens Towing) which quoted me R714 instead, which I immediately confirmed. While waiting for Gardens Towing I now mentioned to Urban Towing, that I didn't want their services and never called them anyway. When I told them I ordered another more affordable company to help me, they first told me that no one could offer such a low price only to outbid and later offer me an even lower price. At this time I was so sick of their agressive behaviour, that I asked them to leave when they told me, that they wouldn't allow any competitor to enter the beach, as "this is not business, this is the towing industry, where rules are different".

Result: they luckily left just before Gardens Towing arrived, when they realized that I was seriously upset with them. You need to stand up against their attempts to rip you off and go with a towing company of YOUR choice!
