I entered into a verbal agreement with maids with wheels for the provision of a 5day/week monthly domestic service. The cleaner was pleasant with few hiccups. At the end of the 2nd week, the cleaner did not pitch for work. When I called Patience, she told that she asked the cleaner to not come in as I haven't paid. I had no communication from her on payment prior to this! As a monthly service, I expected to action monthly payment. Then get a call from Gary who was extremely rude and indicated that I had to pay in advance! Again I was not told about this. I had not received any invoice or communication from maids on wheels for payment. What I did get was disgusting threats from Patience asking me to pay. All in the 24 hours that I Enquired why the maid had not arrived. How do you pay in advance for a monthly service? Especially when you don't even know about these ridiculous conditions.
I will now be taking this up with the consumer court and SARS as I still have not received an invoice from maids on wheels, and I suspect that this business does not operate within the legalities of small businesses in SA.
