Last year in August i received a letter from MBD from Ms Viljoen, it was posted to me. It stated that i owed R6548.33 and i must pay R1925.46 immediately, of which i paid R2000 on the 19/09/2012 and i emailed the proof thereof to Ms Viljoen on the very same day. Since then i have never received any correspondence as to if my payment was received or not. On Thursday last week i received summons to court for the payment of R6548.33, i ask myself..what happened to the R2000 i paid? I called MBD and spoke to Mamokete who is very helpful, and she said the payment idnt reflect cuz i changed the last two digits to 18 insteatd of 00.The reason why i used 18, is cuz thats the number that appears on the original statements, i thought you guys captured it wrongly.it was my mistake, but how come you guys didnt pick it up from the start, esp seeing as she was/is in charge of my case?
I would like to know whats going to happen now..must i still appear in court? like whats the way forward? its not like i didnt react to the registered letter that was sent to me... i would appreciate a prompt response as i have 10 days to appear in court.
