3 Years after account is settled

I had an Edgars account over 8 years ago, more than 3 years ago the account was settled and closed, I got confirmation from Edgars that it was done. NOW, out of nowhere these Daly people send me threatening smses and when I call and try to explain that I don't have proof of payments for THREE years (maybe even longer) ago, I get the phone slammed down in my ear without getting the issue resolved. This is NOT my negligence and I do NOT need someone bothering me over a situation that was resolved three years ago.
