TV licence for what?

Good day

I would like to assure VVM and SABC that my husband and I are not stupid enough to pay 2 TV licences for 1 TV. My husband moved from Cape Town in 2008 and sent an affidavit as requested by SABC to cancel his licence as he was going to live with me and I have my own TV licence. I have been using my husband's old cell number for years now and I am pretty certain no one has said anything about TV licence debt until receipt of an sms from VVM this morning.

If you have proof that my husband has purchased a tv using his licence number post 2008 after his cancellation, please feel free to forward it to me on email, if not then do whatever you want to do with his file as he does NOT acknowledge this debt. Either VVM or SABC need to get their ducks in order, these fantom tv licence debts are really a nuisance. And changing debt collectors is even a bigger nuisance. Please stop harassing us.
