Will this ever end

I had a loan of R4500 taken in 2007 after NCA handed over to JM Attorneys in 2010, i have been paying R265 monthly since, now in 2013 Aug i want a settlement letter and get a balance of R8 500 which is valid for 24hours, anyway now in September 2013 i request a settlement amount and im told its R17 000!!! How can this be, this company just wants to the living blood out of people!! I mean on a R4500 debt i have already paid over R8000 and now i have a R17 000 settlement balance?? the attitude from the call centre is just thats the balance and i must deal with it!! I want to take this up with the authorities regulating attorneys or anywhere and everywhere where i can go this is crazy...
