SABC confirmed lisence stopped, MBD still nagging

In 2009/2010 my husbands tv lisence was cancelled due to a broken tv. I bought a new TV, and also obtained a new tv lisence, as the tv was mine. 3 years later, MBD phones ME to tell me that my husband has been handed over for this account. I explained to Ntobeko that I cancelled the lisence and confirmed same with the SABC. He stated that I cannot cancel a tv lisence, even though my husband does not have a tv anymore??? And what about prescription??? This debt is older than 3 years. Why do they contact me after 3 years for payment? And why does the SABC confirm that the lisence was cancelled, but MBD Attorneys does not accept same? This to me, looks like it might be a matter to take to the ombudsman...
