Another false claim about an Edufin Loan

I have noticed that many people had complaints about inaccurate claims of outstanding edufin loans being collected by MBD Attorneys. Well, I am the nest in line as I have been receiving many sms's about an outstanding edufin loan with reference 0278000011181547. I phoned the number on the sms and the lady informed me that I owe an amount in excess of R8000. I had to ask repeatedly when, according to her records, the loan was opened and initially she said, she could not say. It turns out she could and the loan is "active" since 2001. I finished my studies in 2005 through a Finsa loan, long since paid off. I even googled DBI EDUFIN and no such company even eppears in the search results.

Upon asking the lady to send me an email with all the relevant details so I can reply, she indicated that no one in the company can send me an email, only sms and that she will make a note for someone to send me the details.

Although she had my address right, she had a home number for Kimberley Northern Cape (I live in Pretoria) and a work address for Eastern Cape.

I am quite sick of people trying to others and am very willing to take this matter to the authorities
