I have never had an Edufin account

I received an sms stating that I must pay my Edufin account to avoid further action. I have never had an Edufin account and when I told the agent this, he insisted I must take time out of my day to obtain an affidavit to prove this. How is it that these attorneys can harass people and then demand supporting documentation?
