Bad legal representation

Two of my friends and myself where arrested in a sting operation namely operation Dexter in Port Elizabeth for supplying friends with cannabis. Another friend got us a lawyer namely Alwyn Griebenow. He asked for a R10 00-00 deposit which we payed. My friends car was also taken by the state and a some of about R17 000-00. Myself and one of my friends where charged together and my other friend separately. His case stayed in the local court and he finally received a R1 500-00 fine. My friend and my case went on for over a year been remanded about six times and moved to the high court. When we finally got to the final remand our lawyer told us we need to get an advocate to represent us and a social worker to do a report on the two of us. The advocate he said would cost R25 000-00 and for the social worker R7 500-00 for each report. I asked him what would the remainder of his fee be and he said R20 000-00. which we had to put in his account before seeing the advocate. Which we did. at our sentencing our lawyer wasn't there. He didn't do much except tell us what we knew namely be back in court on the following dates and told us to get another lawyer to get the car and cash back
