Complaint - Prescribed Debt

I have been trying to contact your offices regarding a debt that Foschini has handed over to yourselves Ref no. 0278000374521396. Upon questioning why the account was handed over the consultant avered that accounts which are outstanding / non-payment received for 6 months are handed over.By law this is not the correct process as there needs to be sufficient notice etc. I have now enquired about this with the Ombudsman and the NCR and according to them this debt now falls under the prescription act, and should be taken off my record as this was for 2008 already and correct process was not followed. Please will you update your records, inform Foschini thereof and also kindly update my credit profile, as Foschini has indicated that this account is out of their hands and they need to get instruction from yourselves to remove / update the credit bureau status. I would appreciate feedback in this regard.
