On the 30 jULY 2012my daughter was admitted for a tonsillectomy with your approval at Milpark hospital. I have followed due process and have paid the co-payment to the hospital as was instructed.
Subsequent to the above I was advised via SMS on Friday last week there is an outstanding balance of R5 010.79 owing to the healthcare provider due to non-payment by the medical aid.
I do recall that this issue happened in November 2012 where I had to make numerous calls to have this paid. I was assured that it was paid, and clearly it was not. The hospital had re-submitted the invoice to BONITAS on 1 March 2013 but, it has been rejected due to a "stale" claim. Are you they now expecting ME to pay this money because of THEIR lack of efficiency? I was advise that I need to provide proof that the claim was re-sent in November 2012. When did that become my job? I was even advised by a call centre agent that a statement was sent to me and I should have known. The reason the claim was sent back was due to the wrong code used. Is that now also my job? Where is the November recording? Missing I bet.
I can assure you that BONITAS will not contact me.
