Charge for the error for 3 years back

Good day i am register my husband and my step son from this month on my medical aid, and the bill we suppose to pay should be 3967 rand, but instead from my bank account amount of 4670 been deducted, when i phone to the discovery health the lady told me its been billing mistake from Discovery Vitality, i am apparently should was paid more then i was paid, and they recalculated and add me 3 years back payments, i am very angry how this could happened and why do i have to pay for somebody error, and not even been notify me about this, just deducted from my accounts 3 years payment back, i think its not legal to take money off from 3 years back and not even email or phone me first, there is the letter i receive from one off ur staff member
