Why bother with medical aid

In November 2012 I applied for medical aid. To be effective January.
From December I am following up with Discovery, not once did they picked up a phone to say that the paper work was not in order. Every second week I call them to find out how the application is doing.
Only in January 2013 I was told that 1 page was not signed. I signed and mailed the document back called to find out if all is in order just be told they did not receive all pages, I had to fax it. This morning I spoke to the supervisor and was informed that all is in order and I will receive a mail to that effect, but surprisingly I had to call them again to find out where the mail was. The mail that I received was not to say I am a member yet, it was to advise me that the attach form have to me completed by a doctor. When I get my doctor to fill in this form and I send it back to discovery how many phone call from my side will it take before discovery will give me the next excuse why this application was not process. I am sure it can not be this difficult to join a medical aid, or could it be that discovery is just not interested in getting new member, may be I must try another medical aid.
