Gym membership move from Plan. Fitness to VirginAc

When one joins Planet Fitness, through vitality one pays a once off R800 fee to Discovery and thereafter a monthly fee. I'm moving to Durban in two months where there are no Planet Fitness gyms (no fault of Discovery). I now need to move to Virgin Active which is not a problem. I was told by a Discovery consultant that i now need to pay the once off R800 feee again to Discovery. This makes no sense!! i don't mind a new monthly fee at the rate for the new gym partner Virgin Active. Surely Discovery manage the relationship with their partners. I have no monetary relationship with the gym's themselves and i don't see why i need to foot a bill for a new once off fee to Discovery.
