Bad service at The Cradle

I was SO excited when my mom told me we were having a familly Sunday lunch at The Cradle Restaurant. I'd heard such wonderfu things and couldn't wait to try the food. We had no choice but to select the set menu at R225 a head. It took a long time after we were seated to get service and order drinks. There were at least 2 occasions where I physically got up from the table to call our waitor. Though friendly, the waitor seemed to have little experience or knowledge of the menu which was at times, frustrating. My main was Calamari with burnt roasted vegetables that I couldn't eat and boiled tasteless broccoli. The calamari was rubbery and overcooked with a strange white sauce on top that seemed like an after thought. I had a few bites and then opted to try my sisters food - canelloni with spinach. I've tasted better cannelloni from the frozen foods section at a grocery store. This was dry and rubbery. I then tried my other sisters food - a pesto pasta DRENCHED in oil. It was no good either. Overall I left The Cradle feeling really disappointed because the view is breath taking and the setting is lovely.
