Due to incorrect diagnoses, my cat who had been to see the vet several times over a few weeks, died. The vets bill came and was settled. However this followed by another bill of costs I had not been made aware of.

I phone vet in question- who said least he could do was reduce bill. However I kept on receiving the account. I then phoned the practise office again to speak to the vet- only to find out that he no longer works there. I send a letter to the clinic explaining what had been agreed to.

The new vet on duty refused to accept my story and demanded payment. When I refused as I had been promised that the unseen costs would be removed, they handed me over to attorneys.

When I explained the problem to the attorneys- I got a story of how my 'housesitter' brought my cat into the practise (which never happened!), and after the first 'we never got your letter' they now acknowledge receipt of it. Clearly their records where completely wrong and I even wonder now if I have been paying someone else hidden costs!

I'm not against paying my accounts; but if a practise agrees to something, it should still stand regardless of who takes over the new office! Terrible way of making mon
