I am extremely disappointed with Momentum's refusal to correct my tax certificate for the 2024/2025 tax year.
On March 2024, I paid an additional premium of R11325 at Momentum's own request. This amount was required to finalize an outstanding claim when I changed funds. Imade the payment immediately, and Momentum confirmed that the claim would only be processed once the additional premium was settled.
I received my annual tax certificate for 2024/2025 but then realized a payment of R11325.00 maid 13March 2024 does not appear on my tax certificate, even though it is a legitimate premium contribution. The monthly premiums do appear, but this important once-off payment is missing. Because of this error, my SARS calculation is now R7,192.00 higher than it should be.
Momentum's response was simply that they "cannot amend the tax certificate" as its system driven. This is unacceptable. Banks, insurers and administrators regularly correct tax documents when errors are identified. Momentum is not exempt from ensuring accurate reporting, especially when their own system required the payment in the first place.
All I am asking for is, a corrected tax certificate.
I have now been left with no support, no escalation option, and a significant financial impact due to Momentum's unwillingness to assist.
I expect Momentum to resolve this matter asap and provide the necessary documentation for SARS to avoid legal action as well as interest from their side.
