Our daughter was admitted to hospital on 25/10/2013 with a PMB condition. The hospital bill was covered in full, but when we received the doctors accounts we realized that some of them were short paid. We queried this and was informed that the doctors used the incorrect ICD 10 codes when the accounts were submitted. We were requested to contact the doctors and have them resubmit these accounts with correct ICD 10 codes. This was done in late Nov/early Dec by them. Confirmation by the inquiry department was given that these accounts have been received and will be forwarded to the PMB department to be processed. A time frame of about 5 weeks were given. After sitting on the phone again today for more than ten minutes and after being transferred to the PMB Department I was informed that they have no record of these accounts being submitted to them! What kind of service is this? We are being phoned by the drs for payment of these bills and all Medihelp can do is provide us with excuses, but they have no problem taking our money every end of the month!! If there is no conclusion to this matter by Friday afternoon we will be taking this up with the Council for Medical Schemes.
