Had to Remove my wisdom teeth in hospital procedure and was instructed to get Pre-authorisation code, i then called Medihelp (my first claim), and it took 30 min before i got through but i was patient and the consultant assisted me with no issues, took all my details, doctors codes etc and i explained the process to the consultant, not to worry they said, i have a co-payment of R2300.00 but everything else will be covered except 100% of the specialists bill as they charge 200% (something or other), i then asked them to email me the pre-auth so that i can forward it to my doctor and schedule a date, and she did and everything was booked and the day of came and went and a week later i wake up to a invoice of R7500 that they are not paying, i call them and they say no there is no authorisation, no notes or anything - they put me through to 3 different departments - where i am told (1st year, thats why they not paying / i didnt call the hospital department??? what department is that???) i then tell them to cancel my medical aid, but i cant cancel it immediately as they first want one last payment??? i now have to pay a bill of R14020.00 BY FAR THE WORST MEDICAL AI
