Burgled at a B&B

We were on holiday with friends at a bed and breakfast in St Lucia and were burgled on our last night. Checking out next morning the owner (who knew full well what had happened because the police were there) simply smiled and hoped we had enjoyed our stay.
For someone in the hospitality industry she was certainly insensitive in the extreme. Surely as owner of the premises she could have expressed some empathy at our dreadful experience?
