Cullinan Hotel going the extra mile

We booked our week long holiday for the week of 16-23 Dec 2013 two months ago. We arrived at the Cullinan on Monday and had a wonderful stay until Wednesday when our loyal companion and friend, Rexie our husky suddenly passed away. Our house-sitter was in an emotional state as she has also known Rexie since he was a puppy. It really is like losing a child in a family and we are devastated. We immediately made arrangements to fly back home and had to book out of the hotel immediately. We expected the hotel to keep the booking money but they were kind enough to refund us for the days which we did not stay. This is such a gracious gesture in a very difficult emotional time for us and it is really appreciated. Our children who are still small do not really understand the situation and cried when we left because they wanted to stay. It is so difficult to deal with such a loss but the fact the the Cullinan was understanding really impressed us. Thank you to the Cullinan, its great staff, the chef who has to be complimented too - we will definitely come back for our holiday as soon as this family tragedy has passed.
