Discovery Health chooses to ignore inquiries

Dr. Ryan Noach, Chief Operating Officer of Discovery signed an authorisation approval for treatment at a rehabilitation hospital for my father that has been in ICU at Netcare Mulbarton for the last 2 months. Priscilla Mathapo called my mother to say that the authorisation was declined and my father was to be sent to a stepdown facility instead. Nothing was sent in writing and no explanation of the next steps to be taken. Not even which stepdown they are willing to pay for.

I have queried this reversal of decision by Discovery by sending an email to [Email Removed] but this email has not been answered. The discovery authorisation approval file is 704490286.pdf

I just wish someone at Discovery Health actually had a heart to help its members by doing their jobs in a proper manner and to send the documentation to assist the patient and their families to know what is going on.

Instead, you are left to call a electronic gatekeeper at the call centre with barely enough options to get anywhere. A real person on the end of the line would be far more acceptable.

I am considering cancelling my entire families membership unless someone gets back to me.
