Extremely excessive charge

I rushed my 11 month Cocker spaniel in for bad diarrhoea and he was diagnosed with Parvo virus. I was told that on average it would take 5 days in hospital treatment and it would cost - R5000 (it may even take up to 10 days at a cost of - R10000). Because of the expensive treatment, i was asked to pay a R2000 deposit, which i did. The next day my wife found a Vet closer to home and wanted to transfer our dog to that vet. She was told she had to pay an additional R1380. That is a total of R3380 for 24 hr stay at the clinic. What ever happened to - R5000 for 5 days? I feel that this is very dishonest and unethical way to conduct a business. I shudder to think what they would have charged had i remained there for the duration of the treatment.
Helderkruin Veterinary Clinic are rip offs and do not deserve the honour of treating peoples loved pets!
