Taking forever to get registered

I am a South African citizen who lived and studied and qualified as a Professional Nurse in the UK from 2004 - 2007. I returned to SA in 2009 post qualification and wanted to register to practice and serve my community. I had all my certificates SAQA verified and i then submitted my application to SANC on the 8th of June 2010. Up to today i have not been registered and i am being told that my application is still 'under review'!!! How long does it take to get registered in this country?

And the very bad customer service i received when i went to SANC some 2 weeks ago, i was made to wait for almost 2hrs only to be told that 'your application' is still under review. HELP!!!
