Bait and switch

When I called for medical insurance, I've asked specific questions re waiting periods and was told it was only for planned medical treatment. Subsequently in the documentation I received after joining them they said I cannot claim for ANYTHING unless it is life threatening!

They also told me that they will find out if a late joiner penalty will apply since I am missing a few months TEN YEARS AGO - who keeps records for ten years? However, they never found out and reverted to me and just slapped on the charge - how punitive can they get?

I barely started with Fedhealth and already I am having issues.
