Draconian Discovery

My wife had a hysterectomy and could not attend gym. The gym terms with Discovery state that she has to attend gym a set number of times per month. We were under the impression that as Discovery were paying for the major operation they would waive the gym attendance requirements. My wife did actually even try to attend some gym but ended up in too much pain to continue regular visits.
The long an short of it is that Discovery have now cancelled our gym membership because they "are able to" based on the required visits not being met. I wrote to them and put my case forward along with a letter from the surgeon. All to no avail. Discovery simply said that I have to pay a rejoining fee. Its quite a concern when you consider that your health is in the hands of an organisation that will suffer no financial damage by simply reinstating a gym membership and will rather choose to try and squeeze some more money from you. This in additional to the 100k I already contribute on an annual basis. I hope this reacion is from a short sighted consultant and not the attitude of the group as a whole.
