I applied for Medical Aid cover with Momentum Health which was due to start on 01 December 2012. On the 29 November 2012 I sent an email requesting that they do not start the cover from 01 December 2012 due to financial reasons and cover should start from February 2013 which never happened. Now I am being contacted by Blake Collections that I owe the premium for December 2012 to Momentum as I am required to give 30 days notice? How do I have to give 30 days notice on something that hasn't even started yet, therefore no valid contract in place??? I have been corresponding with Blake since June 2013 and still they insist I owe them December premium even after sending proof of the "cancellation" request. I am really happy I never went with their cover, could you imagine if I had a claim?
