i am truly disgusted by the lack of proffesionalism by the trauma unit at this hospital, took me 2 hours waiting for a tetnus shot following a dog bite... the "doctor" on duty that night sat at his desk reading a newspaper shouting orders to the nurses who were just as unhelpful... they kept complaining about how busy they were, i was walking about waiting for assistance, the emergancy room was empty and the "examination rooms" just as quite... the "doctor" eventually just stuck his head in my door and proceeded to make me feel most uncomfortable by telling me that everyone dies from rabies and "chirping" me about not getting the tetnus sooner... i know one has 48 hours to get it following a bite, this was within 20 hours... he "assessed" the wounds from the door following his chirps... then returned to his newspaper and shouted instructions to a nurse as to what needs doing on me... unacceptable!!! i am a new resident to Richards Bay and this is most disturbing after recieving brilliant service from Entabeni and St Augustines in Durban... the above doctors name is a Mr Roodt or Roos or something like that. 1 positive factor was the receptionist...
