Spec-savers Sa
Prescription sunglasses with unwanted red tinge

Health & Medicine

I collected my new prescription sunglasses from Specsavers Longbeach Mall on 28-06-13. Over the next 2 months, these sunglasses were repeatedly sent back to the Specsavers lab because of an unwanted red tinge to the lenses. Right from the start, I was assured by the consultant that the lab could and would remove this redness. However, after being sent back to the lab numerous times, the lenses kept coming back with the very same problem. The last straw was when they came back as transitional lenses rather than regular sunglasses! After this major error by the lab, I requested a refund, as I had now lost all confidence in the Specsavers lab. When the consultant gave me my refund on 31-08-13, and after me complaining to her about all the inconvenience caused to me by their lab, she said she would get her boss to contact me the following week. It is now the end of that week, and I have still not received any call from him. Although I have been refunded my money, it does not cover the cost of getting a new pair of sunglasses made up elsewhere - not by a reputable optometrist anyway. Overall, I am totally appalled by the poor quality of service rendered by the Specsavers lab.
