Discovery refuses to pay claim - boycott Discovery

Dear Discovery,

On 24 July 2013, at 11h50am I called Discovery to ask them whether a 100 foodstuff allergy test offered by ImuPro of Medical Diagnostoc Services (MDS) would be covered by the medical aid. Their agent confirmed it would, after I supplied the practice number of MDS (0235415) & the IgG Elisa test Claim Code (3948).

I also got an email from Discovery saying the test would be covered, albeit out of my medical aid savings (I don't mind however, I just want it paid)!

When I filed my claim, Discovery refuses to pay it, despite admitting they would via telephone AND mail. Plus, they are trying to wrap me up in bureacracy by sending me multiple emails stating I owe them outstanding paperwork, meanwhile I've sent them everything, they're just not reading their mails!

Also, they have been rude & sent me a mail all of a sudden saying the scan is not legible - a newly minted excuse, when the scans are perfect and MDS can read them fine!

I re-scanned and sent to Discovery, and now I wait!

The value of the claim is R1990, & whilst my premia are >R3.8k, and savings >R4k, they refuse to pay. I am apalled & am terminating my membership. Time to go to the papers with this, Alex
