I have been a member of Bankmed for close on 15 years. In March 2013 I was retrenched and my medical aid was paid up front by my x-employer up to end June 2013. Mid June I sent an email to Bankmed informing them that I want to stay on the medical aid after June and requested them to advise on how to proceed to arrange that. I only received an automated response on my email and a week later I decided to call the call centre. The agent who assisted me was not extremely helpful and in the end she gave me another email address that I had to send my request to. I did as advised and five days later after still no feedback I emailed again - now a further week later I am still waiting on a response and am I now without medical aid cover.

I find this level of service unacceptable. It seems Bankmed is not interested in retaining me as a member.
