Discovery Health
Unpaid Claim

Health & Medicine

On the 12th of June I received a statement from the dentist informing me that they were sort paid by R944-45, I then emailed this statement to Discovery and was told that this claim cannot be paid because it's over 4 months old and was never received before. I then spoke to the accounts person at the dentist's office and they assured me that it was sent to Discovery on the 4th of Feb, they also sent me the EDI Transmission Report as proof and the reason you rejected this claim was insufficient fund. I then resent this claim with the EDI Transmission Report to Discovery and today I was told that the reason for the non-payment was because when Discovery received this claim on the 4th of February it had a dummy code of 8099 so the claim was rejected. I have spoken to Discovery twice and both times I get the same story that you can't pay because the account is over four month old and they need a motivation letter before considering payment, very little interest has been shown from Discovery in settling this account.
Why wasn't I informed in February that this claim was rejected by Discovery?
Why has Discovery given me two different stories each time I phoned as above?
