Hi,

On 27th May 2013, I spoke to Zelda to get authorisation for a "radical hysterectomy" scheduled for 4th June. She provide that info. I asked if the op would be covered in full- her words were, "this Doctor is on the plan and the cost will be covered in full. Any take home medication will come out of your savings or will be for own cost. You will need to check with the Anaesthetist- if he charges more than the medical aid rates, the balance will be for your cost". On 10th or 11th June, Discovery deposited just over R 33 000 into my husband's bank account (please note- not into mine, which is another dispute). On 11th June, I called to find out why the money wasn't paid to the Doctor- Cindy told me that the Doctor had claimed almost R 48 000 which was more that what the fund pays. I explained the call with Zelda & ask that Discovery listen to that call and get back to me. Cindy said that I would be contacted within 3-5 working days. Well- it's the 19th & hasn't happened. I'm at home recovering from my op & every time I have to follow up, its at my cost. I received an email today with another unpaid bill that I have to follow up with as the codes are incorrect- another cost to me!
